About...

Mike Price

Mike Price is 36 years old and has finally succumbed to the golfing bug. This blog hopes to show how anyone can take up golf and enjoy the benefits it will bring to your life. He will be helped by his father Mike Price who has been playing for over 35 years. His aim was not to embarrass himself when he played his first round of golf. Mike has now played his first game of golf and has a new goal of improving his putting and getting below 90 on the score card.

Practice makes perfect

Posted by Mike Price on June 27, 2007 9:41 AM |

I have some training aids in my garden which I use when I can. They are a chipping net, which I have yet to chip into successfully, and a ball on a string. The ball hangs down from a metal spike and you hit it, very simple but good with getting my technique right. My Dad suggested putting some coins in a straight line to try and help me guide the club to the ball. Seems to work. I might feel moved to progress on to my other training aid, but I will save that for next time. Any tips any one???

Training aids are all very well, but golf in the garden tends to build confidence that dissolves the moment you set foot on a course. Get out there and do it for real! Great blog. You're hooked, like me, and there's no escape,
